Typical public defenders have upwards of 400 cases each. I carry a maximum load of probably 20 to 40. The result is I can pay a lot more attention to your case, in addition to which I have skills that a public defender simply does not have which involve negotiating with the state attorney’s office in order to get your case reduced before you ever get arraigned on a given charge.
