Hiring an attorney’s a personal decision and it’s an economic decision. I actually speak with a number of clients who on occasion I recommend to not even hire a lawyer. It depends very largely on the specific facts on the case. And in reality, what I always encourage folks to do is simply talk to attorney. Typically, consultations are free. It doesn’t cost anything, and they will be able to give you a decent idea of whether it’s actually worthwhile to hire an attorney in your circumstances. So no, it’s not always necessary to hire an attorney, but it certainly never hurts to speak with one.
