A no-contact order is a protection for someone against being contacted by somebody else. Typically, it’s used in domestic violence cases, which are established by a court and restrict parties to a domestic relationship, girlfriend/boyfriend, father/son, mother/ daughter, or husband and wife, from contacting one another because of the concern about them engaging in activity that will hurt on of the other parties. So a no-contact order, which is also a domestic injunction, prohibits that sort of contact. If either party contacts the other there can be a violation, which can result in jail time.
