Can I get an injunction or restraining order even if there hasn't been any actual domestic violence?

An injunction can be obtained in the state of Florida, even if there is not a direct act of domestic violence. There are a number of causes of action that can lead to an injunction. Domestic violence is only one of a few. There are other causes of actions, including stalking, sexual violence, or repeat violence, all of which can result in a court putting an injunction in place, and don’t require any degree of domestic violence. Domestic violence is defined very specifically in Florida, and it simply doesn’t always apply, but it’s certainly not a barrier to getting an injunction.
