Is it legal to use a radar detector in a private vehicle in Florida?

Absolutely it is. There is no restriction on the use of a radar detector in Florida. Interestingly, you can’t have a radar defeater because that’s a radio signal and it’s controlled by the FCC. You can, however, have a laser defeater. Escort offers one of those and they’re top of the line. It actually sends out a signal when it determines that you’re being spotted by a laser and defeats that laser. None of those are restricted in the State of Florida.
