Criminal Lawyer Studies

Education

When hiring any type of lawyer, you want someone knowledgable, trustworthy, and experienced. Dale Carson’s criminal lawyers, just like all lawyers, start their careers by getting a bachelor’s degree in law. Secondly, if we want to represent clients in a courtroom, we must pass the bar exam in the state(s) we wish to practice. Fun fact, we technically are called “criminal defense attorneys” once we pass the bar exam, but the terms are often used interchangeably. Finally, we may get a board certification from a nonprofit organization, NBLSC (National Board of Legal Specialty Certification). We want to ensure we are prepared for all cases, so we start with lots of schooling. But, even after we graduate and pass the bar exam, we continue to study law everyday both in and out of the courtroom.

Skills

Lawyers, in general, are some of the best researchers and investigators due to the nature of their work. At Dale Carson Law, our criminal lawyers will also have strong writing, speaking, creative, analytical, and interpersonal skills. We must be able to present the case and defend our client to the best of our abilities. Finally, we have strong legal knowledge and experience making us your best asset when fighting a criminal charge.

Daily Work/Tasks

A Dale Carson Law criminal lawyer’s daily work highly depends on the type of case they are currently dealing with. But, in general, our daily tasks are like any other lawyers. First, we’re responsible for interviewing and choosing witnesses. Then, we have to do a lot of research and evidence building to get representatives ready to defend clients in the courtroom. Some cases can be dismissed before ever going to trial, which is what each of our criminal attorneys tries to accomplish. If necessary, our criminal lawyers/attorneys will put all their time into building evidence, guiding, and all-around supporting our clients if the case is tried.
