Injunctions

In the realm of law and legal proceedings, certain terms may seem complex or intimidating, but they often serve as crucial tools for maintaining order and protecting rights. One such term is “injunction.” An injunction is a powerful legal remedy utilized to preserve the status quo or prevent future harm in various legal disputes.

What is an Injunction?

An injunction is an order issued by the court telling someone they can’t do something. Typically we see this in domestic violence cases where an individual is told to stay away from a given party.

Types of Injunctions:

Temporary Restraining Order – Typically granted in urgent situations before court hearing.
Preliminary Injunction – Issued after a TRO until court makes a decisions on a case.
Permanent Injunction – This is a final judgement at the concusion of a lawsuit.
